Hi, this is Oakdale, MN Chiropractor Dr. Ben Smetana.  As the low-fat diet myth continues to crumble, more research is mounting supporting the need for more good healthy fats in our diet.  I just found this article in the Doctor’s Resource Center section of our website; it talks about the health benefits of eating full fat dairy.

When you reach for a glass of milk, should you choose skim? Is whole milk a guilty pleasure? For years, health experts have promoted lower-fat dairy as the healthier choice, but it’s time to look at this issue anew.

When dealing with dairy it is very important to consider the source of the product.  Look for raw, organic and grass fed sources.  It is also important to get dairy products containing A2 casein vs. A1 casein due to the inflammatory nature of A1.  Sources include A2 cows, sheep and goats.  We recommend Dairy products from Beyond Organic which can be found here.
