Hi, this is Oakdale, MN chiropractor Dr. Ben Smetana and I found this interesting article on the Doctor’s Resource Center of our website. The article looks at the link between the lack of sleep and weight gain.
Lose weight while sleeping! It sounds too good to be true, but scientists have found some interesting connections between sleep and weight control. In a study published in the journal Sleep, healthy adults who were only allowed four hours in bed per night ate more calories and gained more weight than people who were allowed to sleep normally.

In a new study, the probiotic Saccharomyces boulardii improved quality of life for people with IBS. Unlike the most commonly used probiotics, Lactobacillus and Bifidobacter species, S. boulardii is a yeast, not a bacterium.
