I always find it interesting when the news media picks up these stories on the safety of nutritional supplements and yet they never report on the safety of prescription medications; even though it is well documented that prescription medications, when properly prescribed and properly administered are responsible for over 100,000 deaths per year (JAMA 1998;279:1200).
